Cooperstown’s Kristin Ratliff and Samantha Fanion placed 14th and 19th, respectively, among Class C runners in the state cross-country meet Saturday at Queensbury.

Ratliff, a sophomore, completed the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 37 seconds. Fanion, a freshman, crossed in 19:48.

On the boys side, Delhi’s Declan Kottmeier had the fastest time among the four area boys who competed Saturday.

Kottmeier, a sophomore, completed the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 59 seconds to place 33rd in the Class D race. Kottmeier’s teammate, Alex Legg, finished 61st in 17:51. Afton’s Joe DeVona placed 73rd in 18:12.

Oneonta High’s Logan Mancuso finished 49th in the Class C race. He crossed in 17:14.


Oneonta High’s girls placed fifth out of nine teams in the Section Four Class B meet at Owego.

The Yellowjackets finished with 189 points. Owego won with 581.

OHS was led by its 400-yard freestyle relay team that placed third. Abby M. Miller, Ceili Getman, Madison Allen and Lucy Bischoff touched in 4 minutes, 4.05 seconds.
