Justin Harris and Patti Canner emerged as men's and women's champions Sunday at the 42nd Otsego County Amateur Championship.
Harris, of Unadilla, carded a 69 Sunday at Oneonta Country Club to post the event's lowest round and erase a two-shot deficit on the way to winning the top men's flight. The low round came after he shot 75 at Colonial Ridge Golf Course on the competition's first day, giving him a 144 total and a five-stroke margin of victory.
The win also gave Harris a ninth Atchinson Cup, presented to the winner of the event's top flight, six weeks after he took third at the Delaware County Amateur.
Michael Schulte shot 73 for a one-stroke lead after day one, and fired a 76 Sunday to total 149 and take second place. Levi Decker shot 74 before carding a 78 Sunday to finish third at 152.
Bruce Miller (155) was fourth and John Courtney (158) was fifth in the flight of 14 competitors.
On the ladies' side, Canner also closed with the event's lowest round. Her second-round 88 eliminated a one-shot deficit after opening with a 94, giving her a total of 182 and a seven-shot victory.
Michelle Wiltsie shot 91 Sunday to tie Lauren Lathan at 189 for second place.
Nick Lambros was the final top-flight winner, totaling 80-77-157 to win the Senior 1 division by 10 strokes. Al Puylara (167) was second and Bob Zeh (170) was third.
In the Senior 2 division, Chris Crisler shot 102-96-198 to win by one stroke over James Gillette (199).
Rich Mann won the men's Flight 2 with a total of 160, and Bryan Squaires won Flight 3 at 175.
