Orlowski honored by USTA

Oneonta High School tennis coach Phyllis Orlowski was honored by the United States Tennis Associated as the group’s Organizer of the Month.

The honor comes after Orlowski established Net Generation, the USTA’s program for growing the game nationwide, in the Oneonta area this summer.

O’Connor Golf Invite slated

The 13th annual O’Connor Hospital Golf Invitational begins Sept. 18 at The College Golf Course in Delhi.

The event, which benefits building and equipment upgrades at the hospital, includes breakfast, lunch and a post-round reception. Reservations are $150.

SPCA to host benefit tournament

The Susquehanna SPCA is hosting it fourth annual Par for Paws golf tournament Sept. 20 at the Otsego Country Club.

The 18-hole tournament begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start in a four-person team scramble format.

Registration is $300 per team and includes green fees, a cart, breakfast and lunch.

Profits help the SQSPCA fulfill its mission of caring for homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from across the region.

OTC to hold charity tournament

The Oneonta Tennis Center is hosting a charity tennis tournament to establish a youth tennis scholarship for the region.

Multiple men’s and women’s divisions are planned, pending an appropriate number of entries. Registration is $20 per player and $40 for a team.

Clark Center 3-on-3 league announced

The Clark Sports Center has announced a new three-on-three basketball league Wednesday nights during the fall and winter at the Center.

Games will be played from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in men’s, women’s, co-ed and senior divisions.
