DeMott duowins SBA event

The father-son team of Rob DeMott and Luke DeMott won the Susquehanna Bass Association’s June 30 event in memory of Joe Kosina at Canadarago Lake.

The team tallied a five-fish total of 14.83 pounds as the only team to surpass 14 pounds. Rob DeMott also pulled in the event’s lunker with a largemouth bass measuring 20.5 inches and 4.69 pounds.

Frank Microni and Steve Llewellyn took second with a total of 13.98 pounds, while Allan Green and Peter Green were third at 13.41 pounds.

Monte Westcott and Tom Berg were fourth at 13.13 pounds, and Ron Thomas caught the day’s largest smallmouth bass, weighing 3.33 pounds.

The SBA returns with the Kevin Kurkowski Summer Slam July 14 on Saratoga Lake.

Oneonta Bowmen’sClub to host course

The Oneonta Bowmen’s Club will sponsor a state bowhunter education course running July 25-26 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Registration is online at the Department of Environmental Conservation website.

Course homework, available on the registration page, must be completed before the course.
