Oneonta High graduate Lance Ratchford helped Keystone College win the New York Regional and advance to its first NCAA Division III World Series in baseball over the weekend in Auburn.

Ratchford, a senior infielder, earned all-tournament honors, compiling nine hits as the Giants went 4-0, including a pair of victories over perennial SUNY Athletic Conference power Cortland State.

In Keystone's tournament opening, 8-5 win over Ramapo, Ratchford had two hits. The following day, Ratchford had consecutive three-hit games in 6-2 and 13-0 victories over Farmingdale State and Cortland, respectively. In the final, Ratchford had one hit as Keystone downed Cortland, 5-4, to reach the World Series.

For the season, Ratchford is hitting .322 (29-for-90) with four doubles, one triple and one home run over 37 games _ 21 starts. He's scored 19 runs and driven in 12.

The Giants (35-10) open play in the College World Series on Friday against the New England Region champion at Appleton, Wisc.
