Veronica Stamp had 31 assists, Hayley Dower contributed 28 digs and Kelsey Baker and Brittney Herrick had eight kills apiece as host Oneonta High rallied for a 21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-21 Southern Tier Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Johnson City on Wednesday.

"Johnson City is a different kind of beast," OHS coach Lee Ferrara said. "They play incredibly good defense. We were hammering the ball at them and they kept getting the ball up and over. It was incredibly frustrating. We were doing what we were supposed to do and they just kept putting the ball back up."

Ferrara said his team had 43 attacks on the night.

"Normally, those are kills," he said. "It's always a shock to see that ball keep coming over."

Ferrara credited a long service run by Amelia Spaziani with OHS's 25-12 win in the second game.

He said the third game was back-and-forth the whole way.

"It was definitely an emotional night," Ferrara said. "It all blurred together. It was two hours of emotional volleyball."
