Roxbury continued its unbeaten start to the season Thursday, Aug. 22, totaling 175 as a team and improving to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Delaware League with wins over Jefferson (194) and Margaretville (197).

Trent Faulkner-Squires and Ian Walker paced the Rockets, each carding a 40 on the par-34 layout at the Christman's Family Course.

Peyton Proctor tallied a 47 and Ryder Albano totaled a 48 to put all four scorers under 50 for Roxbury.

"I have eight on the team, and they all play all summer long," Roxbury coach Greg Funck said, noting that his team started practice Monday and competition Tuesday. "One day of practice isn't going to make a difference for a golf team, and their practice is really showing."

Seth Wade and Evan Staroba both recorded rounds of 44 to pace Jefferson. Lucas Pochily shot 51, while Kurt McMahon and Kevin Lindquist both filled the fourth position with scores of 55.

Thomas Chairvolotti led Margaretville with a 44 of his own, followed by Justin Johnson's 50. Cody Balcom shot 51 and Billy Miller finished in 52 for the Blue Devils.

Jefferson and Margaretville also coming in under 200 highlights what appears to be a talented and deep field in the Delaware League.

"The other schools too, their scores have been really good," Funck said. "It's good to see the local courses reaching out to local players and letting them play for free or reduced rates, so kudos to them as well."
