Dylan Nichols and Ben Gorell each scored as Unadilla Valley defeated host Walton, 2-0, for a third win in four days.

Nichols put the storm ahead with 9:47 left in the first half, latching onto a through ball from Danny Anderson and finishing.

Gorell’s goal game five minutes into the second half as Geordan Keach provided an assist.

The Storm finished with an 8-6 edge in shots and an 8-3 lead in corners.

Kaiden Vernold made seven stops for Walton (3-9, 2-7), and Brandon Kneale stopped six shots for UV.

Davenport 5, Downsville 2

Jordan Wamsley scored three goals as Davenport overcame an 18-8 deficit in shots to defeat host Downsville in the Delaware League.

The Wildcats scored four goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie at halftime.

Wamsley also assisted a goal by Elias Sierra, giving him four goal contributions for the game. Dylan Waid had an assist and the other goal for Davenport.

Kaden Cicio and Logan Cicio each scored for Downsville.

Ryan Zuill made 12 saves despite a ten-goal deficit in shots. Nate Burnham stopped two shots for Downsville.

The Wildcats finished with a 4-3 edge in corners.

Downsville (6-9) will host Gilboa at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, for senior night.

South Kortright 9, Gilboa 0

Seven players tallied points for South Kortright in its shutout win over visiting Gilboa.

Logan Kaufman and Stanley Andersen potted a pair of goals while Quinlan Davis, Joe Krupa, Logan McCracken, Jadyn Sturniolo and Patrick Dengler also registered strikes.

Andersen broke South Kortright’s school record for most career goals in the match, scoring his 76th and 77th career goals. The previous record was 75.

The Rams ran out to a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes and scored five more in the second half.

Brandon Grommeck, Dengler and Kaufman (two saves) combined for the shutout in goal for SK. Wildcats goalie Dave Mattsson made 20 saves in the loss.

The Rams outshot Gilboa, 29-2, and finished with eight corners to the Wildcats’ one.

South Kortright (14-0, 8-0) will visit Hunter-Tannersville at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

Josh Vital made 10 saves for Hunter-Tannersville and Trent Faulkner-Squires stopped 10 shots for Roxbury in a goalless tie.

Hunter-Tannersville finished with a 12-10 lead in shots, but Roxbury had a 6-2 lead in corners after two overtime periods.

“I thought they outplayed us the first half. We outplayed them in the second half, but we couldn’t find the back of the net,” H-T coach Brent Dearing said.

H-T (7-4-1, 4-3-1) will host South Kortright at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

Windham 5, Stamford 2

Windham picked up its first win of the season by downing Stamford at home.

The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, before striking twice more in the second half.

Ariel Valencia led Windham with two goals and Trent Post recorded a goal and assist. Jason Maeurer and Leon Honge tallied the final two goals for the Warriors while Post, Connor Aplin and Brian VanValin registered assists.

Eric Fredenburgh and Samuel Krum scored for Stamford with Spencer Claven notching an assist.

Brady Post made five saves in goal for Windham and James Olsen had 16 for Stamford.

The Warriors held a 17-10 advantage in shots, and both teams concluded with three corners.

Windham (1-12, 1-7) will host Davenport at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
