Matt Shultz and Dylan Davi each scored twice as Oneonta used a second-half surge to pull away from Chenango Forks, 7-0, Friday at Wright National Soccer Campus.

EJ Kavrazonis started the scoring in the first half, taking an assist from junior Lance Maben with 25 minutes left in the period.

The senior forward turned provider 11 minutes later for the Yellowjackets’ second goal, setting up Shultz for his first goal to double the deficit at the break.

“Forks came out pretty strong and were running around like crazy, but I just think they ran out of steam,” Oneonta coach Alex Brannan said. “We train to make sure we are set to play...I think we are a little ahead of some teams.”

OHS accelerated in the second half, with Davi scoring twice in the frame while Shultz, Finley Oliver and Alex Bitterman each notched once.

Shultz finished with two goals and two assists. Hastings Otieno and Nate Kuhlmann tallied assists along with Kavrazonis, Bitterman and Maben.

The Yellowjackets have outscored opponents, 19-0, through two games after a 12-0 demolition of Norwich on Wednesday. Ten players have scored a goal, and 15 goals have been assisted.

“We’re distributing pretty well. The guys are really good about feeding each other and that’s good,” Brannan said. “I got to play everyone again today. When you get to play 22 players in a game, that’s pretty good.”

Oneonta (2-0) hosts Chenango Valley on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in a rematch of last season’s Section IV Class B championship match.
