Chris Champlin scored 15 points to lead South Kortright to a lopsided Delaware League win over Gilboa, 86-30.

The Rams charged out to a 25-4 first-quarter lead and outscored Gilboa in each quarter.

Ten Rams reached the scoring column, with six hitting from beyond the arc.

Brandon Grommeck (13 points), Joey Shafer (12 points) and Seth Ashline (10 points) were the other double-digit scorers for the Rams.

SK coach Aaron Kaufman was pleased with South Kortright’s bench play, in particular its defense.

“That seems to be our bread and butter this year, our defense,” Kaufman said.

Gilboa’s high scorers were Robert Rion and Reese Chase, each with nine points.

South Kortright (9-2, 2-0) will visit Jefferson at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10.

Davenport 55, Jefferson 40

Davenport garnered a 15-point victory over Jefferson while overcoming a second-quarter ankle injury to standout Jordan Wamsley.

Wamsley scored seven of the team’s 11 points in the second quarter before going down. 

“When he got hurt, everybody chipped in,” Davenport coach Michael Ballard said.

Dylan Waid registered a double-double, pulling down 12 rebounds to go with his 12 points. Chase Rinehart snagged seven rebounds, Ryan Zuill secured nine boards and Warren Quigley handed out five assists.

Jefferson’s Cole Lapinel led all scorers with 20 points on nine field goals.

“This is a very big win, Jefferson’s a very good team,” Ballard said.

Davenport (4-4, 1-0) will visit Windham on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

Margaretville 64, Roxbury 52

Mike Gavette led all scorers with 20 points as Margaretville defeated Roxbury in the Delaware League.

The Blue Devils took a four-point advantage after one period and expanded the deficit to 14 at halftime with a 22-12 run in the second.

Gavette had 10 field goals for his 20 points, also collecting four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and four steals.

Connor Joedicke contributed a double-double for the Blue Devils, dishing out 10 assists to go with his 10 points. Billy Miller also reached double figures with 13 points on six field goals, including Margaretville’s lone 3-pointer.

Jared Davis paced the Rockets with 16 points on eight field goals. Brandon Wright totaled 12 points.

Margaretville (4-4, 1-1) will visit Hunter-Tannersville on Tuesday night.

Downsville 45, Stamford 36

Logan Cicio’s 17 points helped Downsville past Stamford as the Indians went 9-for-32 form the foul line.

The Eagles took an 18-8 lead at halftime and expanded the deficit to 36-18 before Stamford closed the gap in the fourth.

Cicio had four field goals and went 9-for-13 from the foul line to lead all scorers. Jason Gustafsson had two field goals and was 7-for-11 from the line to join Cicio in double figures with 11 points.

Steven Gummoe scored nine points and Louis Banker had eight for the Eagles.

James Olson paced Stamford with 13 points, followed by Tyler Tierney with 12.

The teams combined to take 62 free throws. Downsville was 16-for-30 and Stamford was 9-for-32, which proved to the difference as the Eagles totaled 14 field goals and the Indians had 12.

Stamford (0-10) will visit Windham at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan 10.

Hunter-Tannersville 79, Windham 30

Anthony Andreasen scored a varsity-high 38 points as Hunter-Tannersville downed Windham in the DL.

H-T ran out to a 23-3 lead after one quarter and owned a 37-15 lead at halftime.

Andreasen had 15 field goals, four of them from long range, and was 4-for-8 at the line to total 38. He also had eight steals.

Kaeden Leach had 17 points and eight assists, while Christian Aizstrauts totaled 12 points and seven rebounds.

Chad Stang paced Windham with 13 points.

H-T will visit Roxbury at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10.

Edmeston 67, Sharon Springs 53

Edmeston came out on top against host Sharon Springs on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The squads combined for 49 field goals and 16 3-pointers, with the Panthers holding the advantage in both categories.

Greg DeVries and Josh Martin poured in 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Edmeston while Nate Jennings totaled 11 points and Garrett Lum had nine points, all coming on 3-pointers.

Lum (three), Martin (three), Brendan Ashton (two) and Jennings (one) made up the Panthers’ nine deep balls.

The Spartans were led by Seth Keller’s 22 points on nine field goals and 2-for-3 mark from the foul line.

Brandon Palmer (13 points), Nate MacFadden and Connor Mickel (eight points each) supplemented the Sharon Springs offense.

Palmer drained three 3-pointers and MacFadden and Keller each had a pair.

Edmeston will visit Schenevus at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9.
